Saskatchewan Gen Web Regions

The province of Saskatchewan is divided into regions to help genealogists make local connections with fellow researchers

General or provincial

St. Joseph's main area within Battleford regional Gen Web

Barr Colony Within the Lloydminster regional Gen Web

Humboldt main area within Saskatoon regional Gen Web

Naicam-Spalding Main area within Saskatoon regional Gen Web

The SaskGenWeb Project is divided into 11 larger Regions in the province. Each Saskatchewan Gen Web  region is divided up along highways in the province, and as a reference are named according to a large populated city within the region. If you are doing research in the province of Saskatchewan, it is best to identify the SaskGen Web Region as specific to the locale as possible to reach out to local researchers and fellow genealogists familiar with that area.  Saskatchewan is 1,225-kilometre (761 mi) distance from its northern to southern boundaries.  The southern boundary extends 627 kilometres (390 mi) east to west.  For resource information such as cemetery look ups, local history books, museums, and the like, narrow your research from the provincial level to the regional locale for greater success.    Regions on Saskatchewan Gen Web Mirror site

Saskatchewan  Gen Web, the resource and database projects and Saskatchewan Regions are an online centre for free online genealogy assistance, resources, listings, and databases and information.  The Gen Webs receive transcripts, photographs, and digitized genealogical information from interested citizens, historians and genealogists and the Gen Web volunteers place it online for free access.

Saskatchewan Gen Web was taken offline by the Rootsweb/Ancestry.com IT department to work on issues in their system. Saskatchewan  Gen Web, the resource and database projects and all the Saskatchewan Regions are restoring data at http://sk.canadagenweb.org to serve you better until Rootsweb/Ancestry.com is successful in restoring the original Rootsweb pages.

The original Saskatchewan Regional Gen Webs were put online by a team of amazing, diverse and dedicated volunteers.  The original pages are offline temporarily due to Ancestry.com/Rootsweb Maintenance.  Please check the original web sites periodically to see if they are back online.

Meanwhile, the Sask Gen Web regional webpages will come to a re-birthing here until such time as the original pages are up and running.
